Feng Shui Interior Design
Among Cap Ferret’s first coastal homes, once a haven for fishermen, this residence has been transformed into a peaceful holiday retreat. Cooking and entertaining remain at the heart of the property, reflecting its original spirit. Completed in 2025, the renovation keeps the unique cabane charm of Cap Ferret while incorporating feng shui interior design, creating harmony, balance, and positive energy throughout the property.
What is Feng Shui Interior Design?
Feng Shui interior design is an ancient art that seeks to bring harmony between people and their surroundings. By carefully arranging spaces, it encourages the natural flow of energy, or Chi, fostering balance, serenity, and well-being throughout your stay. Learn more about this timeless practice.
Feng Shui Interior Design IN PRACTICE
At Villas de Rêve à la Mer, Feng Shui interior design principles are applied in several ways:
-
Compasses: To honor the Feng Shui tradition, each villa is equipped with an authentic Feng Shui compass from China, used during the design phase to ensure the perfect energy flow. (We kindly ask that the compasses remain in the villas for future guests to enjoy!)
-
Orientation: The villas face southwest to make the most of natural light and positive energy.
-
Furniture layout: Open and airy spaces encourage easy movement and a sense of calm.
-
Natural materials: Wood, stone, and other textures connect the villas with the coastal surroundings.
-
Colours and textures: Soft tones and subtle textures create a relaxing, elegant atmosphere.
-
Gardens and terraces: Outdoor spaces are designed to blend with nature, connecting indoor and outdoor living.
-
Window and door openings: Creating a natural circulation especially in summer time.
These principles create a welcoming, serene environment where guests can relax, recharge, and enjoy a truly restorative French villa holiday.
